Abstract

La elección de la mención, Historia de la Arquitectura, ha sido hecha en función a la afinidad que siempre he sentido por los temas históricos, ya que siempre he pensado que esta nos puede ayudar a explicar el acontecer y el devenir de la Arquitectura, ya que para mí es válido que el futuro, se construye con la experiencia del pasado. La metodología empleada, consistió primeramente en una serie de lecturas relativas a la historia de Chile e historia de la Arquitectura a fin de refrescar los conocimientos que se suponía teníamos, pero que en realidad eran precarios al menos por parte mía, situación que considero salvada gracias a las lecturas, las cuales quedaron debidamente consignadas en fichas, y sobre todo gracias a los siempre bien acertada y experimentada guía de la profesora Myriam Waisberg I.

The choice of the mention, History of Architecture, was made based on my affinity for historical topics. I have always believed that history can help us to explain the present and future of Architecture. I believe that the future is built on the experience of the past. The methodology used in this research consisted of a series of readings on the history of Chile and the history of architecture. These readings were intended to refresh the knowledge that we were supposed to have, but which in reality were quite limited, at least in my case. I believe that the readings, which were properly recorded in index cards, were helpful in this regard. I am also grateful for the guidance of Professor Myriam Waisberg I, who provided valuable insights and advice.
